On the 19th of November 2019, the Deputy Commander of the US Army Europe visited the NATO Security for Assistance Centre of Excellence (NATO SFA COE).
The US Army Europe, Headquartered in Germany, has the mission to provide ready, combat-credible land forces to, and set the essential conditions for, U.S. European Command and NATO to deter aggression from any potential adversary in the European theatre.
It participates in more than 50 multinational exercises each year, it is the responsible of training events, operational and theatre enablers and support NATO mission providing active duty.
The purpose of the visit is precisely to enhance the professional relationship, promote the interoperability with US Army, allies and partners, to explore future fields of collaboration in common areas of Operations through the exchange of expertise, knowledges, and experiences.
The visit started with the honours to the flag of the Italian Army Infantry and an office call with the Italian Army Infantry School Commander, Brig. Gen. Giuseppe Faraglia.
The Director briefed about the Centre and highlighted the collaborations that it has already established with US Organizations.
In particular, the robust link with all the military entities, at various levels, that has as a common domain the “Training”, such us the U.S. Army Military Advisor Training Academy (MATA), TRADOC Capability Manager, SFA Brigades, Joint Center for International Security Force Assistance (JCISFA).
The aim is to observe training methodology, objectives and model that US Army is applying to train its advisors and put them in system to improve education and training framework in the field of SFA.
In addition, he stressed the contributions of the Centre brunches’ to the US Multinational Capability Development Campaign (MCDC) and its related project for an Interoperable Multinational Resident Advisor Capacity (IMRAC).
