On the 25th of November, Colonel Massimo DI PIETRO, the Director of the NATO Security Force Assistance Centre of Excellence (NATO SFA COE), welcomed Colonel Attila MURINKÓ, the Hungarian liaison officer to the Defence General Staff.
The Officer had the opportunity to visit the Centre located within the Italian Army Infantry School in Cesano di Roma.
During the meeting, the Director illustrated the organization of the Centre and presented the COE’s main projects and activities, highlighting the very productive collaboration between the NATO SFA COE and the heterogeneous military and civilian domain in which the Centre operates.
Among the various topics that were discussed, particular emphasis was given to:
- the most relevant Memoranda of Cooperation signed by the NATO SFA COE with important national and international organizations aimed at mutual participation in seminars and training events;
- the contributions of the representatives of Albania, Italy and Slovenia, the NATO SFA COE Sponsoring Nations, to the development of NATO and national policies, doctrines, concepts, publications, and other documents in order to facilitate a common understanding of the SFA field of application;
- the NATO SFA COE’s activities or projects that may be of interest to the Hungarian Armed Forces.
At the end of the meeting, Colonel Murinkó expressed his appreciation for the interesting presentation and highlighted the important role that the COE plays in fostering the collaboration between military and civilians in the field of the academic research on SFA related topics.
