On the 14th and 15th of June, a delegation of the Training Division of the NATO Joint Force Training Centre in Bydgoszcz visited the NATO SFA COE.
The Training Division (TD) ensures the ability to deliver combined and joint training, static and distributed as well as single- and multi-echelon, for tactical level headquarters, staff and forces over the full spectrum of Alliance operations, to include in support of Alliance current operations and the NATO Response Force (NRF).
The aim of the visit was to strengthen the relation and the interoperability between the two Military Bodies, focusing on education and training matters.
During the visit, the Director, Col Massimo DI PIETRO presented a general overview on the current and future activities, in particular the NATO SFA COE’s training offer with basic, intermediate, and advanced courses and the contribution of the COE to the Alliance in training and education events.
In particular NATO SFA COE and the JFTC Training Division delegation considered the possible ways to cooperate and synchronize the efforts for the advisors’ proper preparation. The productive brainstorming brought the parties to a shared approach for the COE contribution to the next NMI Pre Deployment Trainings (PDTs). The intent is to set up a collaborative process aimed at ensuring the advisors’ operational readiness and the adherence to the SFA doctrine.
Moreover, the delegation had the opportunity to visit the Combat Training Centre of the Army’s Simulation and Validation Centre (Ce.Si.Va.) in charge of LIVE simulations, in particular function, location, facilities, tools and equipment.
This visit is part of a broader framework of relations with other Training and Education International Organizations, to provide the best solutions to satisfy the NATO performance gaps identified within the Military Contribution to Peace Support Discipline, delivering courses, workshops, seminars and exercises.
