On the 8th of May 2019, the NATO Security Force Assistance Centre of Excellence (NATO SFA COE) first Steering Committee 2019 was held.
Today, in the COE headquarters, the Albanian, Italian, Slovenian and NATO ACT representatives met, for the 1st Steering Committee 2019 in order to direct, guide and supervise the NATO SFA COE administration, policies and activities.
The first part of the meeting was focused on the progress of the projects areas included in the Program of Work 2019, staffing situation and infrastructure status.
During this section, the Steering Committee approved the Annual Financial statement for the 2018 year and faced the analysis of the financial planning for the 2019.
Moreover, among other important topics, the SC:
- approved two important cooperation agreements with the Training Specialization and Doctrine Command (COMFORDOT) and NATO Rapid Deployable Corps – Italy (NRDC-ITA), through the mutual support, the exchange of Subject Matter Experts and a more intense collaboration in joint activities as studies, research, analysis, seminars and courses;
- discussed the implementation of a possible Advisor Program to be developed through the cooperation with International actors and NATO and the design of a specific program to identify the ideal advisor characteristics.
The COE’s Director illustrated the initial draft of the Program of Work 2020 highlighting the request for support from Sponsoring Nations and NATO SACT HQ.
