On the 23rd of November 2022, the NATO Security Force Assistance Centre of Excellence (NATO SFA COE) had the opportunity to host Brigadier General Davide CIPELLETTI of the Italian Air Force.
Brig. Gen. Cipelletti, who have previously served as Commanding General to the Italian Bilateral Support Mission in Niger (MISIN), had already the occasion to share his experience during the “Seminar for Institutional Advisors 2022” held in March 2022.
This activity is a part of the huge programme of surveys, individual interviews and focus groups with personnel who have served in SFA activities with the aim to be informed and updated on the current situation of the various theatre of operations.
During his briefing, BG Cipelletti presented his professional experience in Niger, explaining the strengths, the opportunities, the weaknesses and the threats of the activity in the country. He stressed the importance of knowing the operational environment and of understanding the real needs in order to answer to the continuous changing of the scenario.
These meetings better explain that benefits can only be achieved through the sharing of information, combining capabilities and collaborating with each other. This represents the strength of the NATO SFA COE that is based on the inseparable connection between the COE and the heterogeneous domain in which the Centre operates.
