On the 17th of April 2024, a delegation composed of officers from the Senior Staff Course of the Slovenian Armed Forces Military Schools Centre visited the NATO Security Force Assistance Centre of Excellence (NATO SFA COE).
Slovenia, together with Albania, was the first nation to participate, as Sponsoring Nation, in the Italian SFA initiative by signing the Memorandum of Understanding in December 2017.
The purpose of the visit was to inform the delegation about the structure, mission and assignments of the COE.
Among the participants, there was the first and former Slovenian representative of the Centre, LTC Robert MLAKAR, who joined the Centre from 2019 to 2022.
The Concept Development and Experimentation branch head, on behalf of the Director, welcomed the delegation composed of 31 officers and provided them an informative briefing on the role of the Centre and its main activities.
The attendees had the opportunity to visit the NATO SFA COE headquarters and meet the other members of the staff receiving further information on the ongoing developing projects.
The event was also enriched by the presence of the Slovenian Defence Attaché, Brigadier General David HUMAR who joined the event.
At the end of the visit, the chief of the Slovenian delegation, Colonel Alenka Petek and the Defence Attaché thanked the NATO SFA COE for the warm hospitality.
