On 12th of June 2019, the NATO SFA COE and the Training Specialization and Doctrine Command signed the Technical Arrangement to confirm the cooperation between the two entities.
The NATO SFA COE and COMFORDOT, through the National SFA Section and the Post Conflict Operations Study Centre (PCOSC) both contribute to providing security and promoting stability in conflict and post-conflict scenarios.
The Technical Arrangement describes in broad outlines how to manage a synergic and specific collaboration between the two parties in common projects and activities, facing all the new challenges, due to the constant changes of the international security environment.
The main points of this document are:
– promote exchanges, by inviting Subject Matter Experts and participants for conferences, trainings and other activities sharing results, materials and outputs;
– conduct common and joint training, doctrine studies and development activities;
– carry out joint research in common areas of interest;
– sharing expertise and cooperation for the development of e-learning tools/platforms.
This agreement also highlights the importance of the cooperation with other national and international organizations or military bodies, as the Memorandum of Cooperation did with the NATO Rapid Deployable Corps – Italy (NRDC-ITA) signed on the 11th of June.
Benefits can only be achieved through the sharing of information, combining capabilities and collaborating with each. This collaboration will provide an added value to the joint, interagency, intergovernmental and multinational community.
